Late summer has brought some exotic visitors to Cape Cod, and no, we don’t mean the tourists! Inshore speedsters such as false albacore, Spanish mackerel and king mackerel are the target species, as Neal Larsson and Andy Nabreski troll small swimming plugs in the warm summer waters of Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay. Getting through the small bluefish can be a chore, but it’s well worth the effort when one of the summer exotics takes the bait.

Then it’s off to the “Sixth Great Lake,” where Jay Baver fishes with Captain Rich Greenough in search of his first-ever lake trout. By employing downriggers for controlled depth fishing, Jay gets his first laker and then some!
