From The Surf: Slinging Clams with a Side of Bluefish

With Island Beach State Park, Long Beach Island, and more than 40 miles of structure-rich sand beaches, Ocean County, New Jersey is the clam-fishing capital of the Striper Surf. In this episode, Jimmy Fee gets back to his surfcasting roots, fishing fresh clams off Jersey Shore sand for migrating striped bass.

When the bass prove elusive, Jimmy calls on local legend, Shell E. Caris, to shift gears to the striper fisherman’s most reliable backup plan, inside the fertile estuary system behind Ocean County’s barrier islands.
