Late Season Pollock | S9 E05
By the time November arrives in New England, most sport fishermen have pulled their boats and only hardworking commercial fishermen remain in the water.
But there are some excellent reasons to put off winterizing your boat and hold out for a good weather window in late fall. Unlike cod, pollock populations are healthy, and the fish are abundant in Massachusetts waters well into November. Even after cod season has closed, fishermen looking to extend their fishing season can head offshore and return with a cooler full of delicious white fillets for the winter months ahead. Join OTW’s Chris Megan and Kevin Blinkoff as they join up with Captain Rich Antonino of Black Rose Fishing Charters to target big, aggressive pollock with jigs. Braided line, light-tackle, and 400 feet of water makes fighting these “Boston bluefish” a true battle. Tune to check out this incredible late-season fishery.
